Hand-woven Gabbeh Antique Original Rug "A Campfire"

It has become impossible to find authentic vintage Gabbehs. While other regions have starting duplicating the style, nothing compares to the originals made by these nomadic tribes of Southwest Iran. The pile is long, thick, shaggy wool. The dyes are all natural plant dyes from flowers hand-harvested and hand-processed.

Each Gabbeh tells a unique story from an era long gone. “A Campfire” shows several goats scattered through time, with a fire in the center dividing the two planes/worlds.

While some might see “flaws” or “imperfections”, that is entirely the wrong perspective. These rugs proudly wear the telltales signs of humans doing an ancient improvisational craft by hand - and the wear of their age. Please look at photos carefully before making a decision.
